Birungi Gillian is a passionate Ugandan female entrepreneur who transitioned from poultry farming to mushroom cultivation. With her experience in poultry keeping, where she honed her skills in farm management and sustainable practices, she found it easy with the help of skills and business for Africa program to start up an oyster mushroom farm.

She now operates “Birungi Mushroom farm” focusing on organic and locally sourced varieties. Her commitment to eco-friendly practices and community-supported agriculture has garnered a loyal customer base.

Gillian aims to provide a sustainable mushroom supply in her hometown, Kabale while also educating others about the benefits of mushrooms while promoting sustainable farming practices. Through workshops and online resources, she inspires a new generation of farmers to embrace innovative agriculture.
